Glen enjoys solving the unsolvable, doing things that others have been unable to. He has developed a meticulous attention to detail and found his strengths in miniature electronic prototyping, and restoration/reproduction of vintage electronic musical equipment. He has a wide experience in electronics, beginning with a firm education as an Avionic Engineer trained by Hawker De Haviland. Ensuing years saw him gain considerable experience in consumer electronics, including mobile phones, where he worked as an R&D Engineer for Uniden Australia. He moved into private consultancy, becoming a freelance designer of accessories for mobile phones and other consumer equipment. This is where his strength with miniature electronics was developed. He has extensive experience in hand-making prototype circuit boards of any size, having done much assembly at surface mount level under a binocular scope. In contrast to this, Glen has a personal passion for classic and vintage electronics. Self educating himself in the nearly obsolete world of valve technology, to enable him to service the music industry, where most serious amplification equipment is still valve operated. Glen has become one of the leading technicians in this part of the world for Vox musical amplifiers. He has serviced, restored, and supplied valuable equipment for clients in all parts of the world. He also has an extensive collection of period electrical household and laboratory gear which is available for lease to the entertainment industries. Being adept with prototyping and miniature electronics led to Glen delving into the movie industry, where he has worked in recent years at Fox Studios in electronics and specialised props manufacturing. He has been involved in films such as Stealth (2004) and Superman Returns (2006) |
